Heysham Village
Heysham village is a lovely place full of traditional 17th century cottages, along the coast of Morecambe Bay. A hidden treasure, Heysham Village is a small snippet of history, with the ruins of St Patrick's Chapel, Heysham Heritage Centre and St Peter's Church, a Grade I Listed church.
Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve
Leighton Moss is the largest reedbed in the North West, and houses a range of birds including breeding bitterns, bearded tits and marsh harriers. There are also deer and plenty of butterflies, plus a number of different trails that you can take, from varying abilities.

Arnside & Silverdale
Former fishing port Arnside is on the estuary where the River Kent enters Morecambe Bay, and the countryside attracts birds and other wildlife. There are many beautiful woodland walks in Arnside for all ages and abilities. There is also plenty of history to be seen including Victorian St James' church, Pele towers, and Hazelslack tower.
Silverdale is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is a great place to go when you want to escape from the stresses of everyday life. From Jenny Brown’s Point you can look across Morecambe Bay to Humphrey Head, where legend says the last wolf in England was slain.
Birdwatching
Bird Watching is popular in the sands of Morecambe Bay, as Lancashire is renowned for its birds and wildlife. The surrounding countryside is home to world-famous breeding grounds and attracts many rare species.
Carnforth Station and Visitor Centre
The award winning Carnforth Railway Station, was featured in the 1945 film 'Brief Encounter', making it famous. The station has been restored and now the tea rooms resemble the set used in 'Brief Encounter'. The heritage centre tells the story of making of the film and looks at the history and heritage of Carnforth.

Lancaster Leisure Park and GB Antiques Centre
Lancaster Leisure park has a range of attractions, so there is plenty to do. GB Antiques and Furniture Centre has over 140 individual dealers, each with their own specialities. Redwood Garden Centre have an extensive selection of plants as well as gifts and garden furniture. The Factory Shop offer a range of bargains on homeware, bedding, kitchenware, clothing and shoes. At Cherry Tree Gifts and Crazy Pots you are invited to paint a plate, mug, money box or figurine. The Magic Castle has two ball ponds, as well as rollers, ropes, slides and slopes for kids to play on. The Timeless Tearoom serves fresh coffee, light meals and homemade cakes. Turning Point Theatre Arts has a range of dance and fitness classes, or if you just want to relax there is a range of treatments available.
