Maritime Museum

The Lancaster Maritime Museum is housed in the Port of Lancaster Custom House and warehouse buildings which date from the second half of the 18th century. This now peaceful stretch of the river would once have bustled with ship building activity and the loading and unloading of goods.

Judges Lodgings Museum

Lancaster's Judges Lodgings is located in the centre of Lancaster against the backdrop of Lancaster Castle and Lancaster Priory. The museum is now home to a renowned collection of Gillow furniture which is displayed in fabulous Regency period room settings.

Lancaster Castle and Dungeons

Lancaster Castle is one of Europe’s longest serving operational prisons. The famous Pendle witches were tried, convicted and sentenced to death at Lancaster Castle. The castle operates guided tours of parts of the castle seven days a week.

Happy Mount Park

Happy Mount Park was originally created in the 1920s as a traditional urban park area. There are play areas, a miniature railway, a bowling green, miniature golf, crazy golf, the Splash Park, trampolines, a Japanese garden, a cafe, and picnic area.

Picnic at Crook O’Lune

Crook O' Lune Picnic Site, near Caton is a popular and attractive spot, where the River Lune meanders in a big curve through tree-lined banks. The view up the Lune Valley is superb, looking north east towards Ingleborough.

Docker Park Farm is home to pigs, cows, horses, goats and lots more farm animals with so much to do, including tractor rides, lamb feeding, nature trails and other exciting activities.

Butterfly House, Mini-Beast Centre and the Ashton Memorial at Williamson Park

The Butterfly House is a popular destination. Walk amongst some of the world's most beautiful species, including swallowtails, and Owl butterflies within a natural habitat. The Mini-beast Centre is full of lizards, snakes, spiders and other creepy-crawlies. The Park's original 38 acres has been supplemented by almost 16 acres of land, this area, known as Fenham Carr, provide less formal rustic walks.
