Holker Hall

Levens Hall
Levens Hall has a great deal of history for visitors to explore during their visit. The home contains some fantastic paintings, furniture, and Spanish wall coverings. The Garden is grade 1 listed and dates back to 1694. Levens Park was originally a medieval deer park, and is home to a small herd of Norwegian black fallow deer and Bagot Goats.

Dove Cottage and Wordsworth Museum
Dove Cottage was the home of William Wordsworth from December 1799 to May 1808. Dove Cottage is a Grade 1 listed building and visitors are offered a guided tour, telling the story of the house and family. The home still contains many of Wordsworth's items. The garden is also open, depending on the weather, and has been restored to the way William and his wife lovingly created it.

Honister Slate Mine
At Honister Slate mine in Borrowdale you are able to watch the 300 year old process of slate being riven (or split). Guided tours into the mines are available regularly throughout the day, the guides will show you the spectacular features of the mines and explain the detailed history.
